Don't Stop The Presses

Vintage, hand craved letters and numbers

While we all seem fascinated by the instant world of twitter and - yes -  blogs, the slow art of letterpress continues to attract more and more fans.

Here at The Collective show, we are showcasing letterpress designs.  There is vintage type - hand carved wooden letters and numbers each with its own rich patina - which you can use for your designs.

You can choose from a collection of handmade notebooks and calendars.  From the creative hands at Kozo Studio Gallery, there are letterpress gift tags that have been printed on thin wood and prints made from antique plates.

Years ago as the heavy presses were replaced by sleek computers, most of these plates and type would have been discarded.  Now there is a growing group of talented artisans who are are rediscovering - and saving -  this contemplative art.
